RECAP: Saturday, Oct 13

We ran in the first Gem City Classic 5K put on by the Advanced Running Project.

Race began at Island Metropark in downtown Dayton at 5:00PM on Saturday. Conditions: 51 degrees at start, low to moderate winds, sunny. About 250 runners finished the race with competitive winning times for men and women.

Check our site for upcoming training runs and events. Next Sunday is the Columbus Marathon and Half-Marathon so we will be in Columbus on Sunday supporting our runners there.

Saturday we may support a long run in the Dayton area depending upon training schedules as few weeks are left before the majority of our Fall races and many have completed their final long runs and are preparing to taper for big races.

Hope to see you out on the roads or trails and at our next run. Follow us on Instagram @ohloru for updates during the week.

RECAP: Sunday, Oct 7

Raced the 2018 Army Ten Miler.  Finish time not included in initial results–working with timing company to resolve.  We had 57:18 as our finish time.  Hopefully results will be updated but if not then we will return next year to try to run faster.  Conditions:  72 degrees at start, overcast skies, high humidity, low wind.  Race went off without issues; definitely a top-tier competitive event.  We went out with the 5:30 min/mile pace group and had a nice pack of competitors to run with; unfortunately we couldn’t finish the race as strongly as we started.  A lot of positive experiences and lessons learned from the race–looking forward to some rest and recovery as we plan out our upcoming year to hopefully peak for this race again next year.  Thanks to George Banker (Operations Manager) and the entire Army Ten Miler event team.  Well done!
