Amy Robillard – Cincinnati, Ohio

Amy ran 2:43:51 in the 2019 Indianapolis Monumental Marathon to qualify for her second Olympic Trials. She also qualified for the 2016 Trials after running 2:44:12 in Houston. Running is Amy’s second sport; she swam collegiately for the University of Arizona and was nationally ranked in high school. Her first road race was the 2002 Chicago Marathon where she ran 3:07:57, and she has won the Flying Pig Marathon twice (2014, 2015) and the half three times (2011, 2012, 2016). Amy coaches club and high school swimming, middle school cross-country, and has two children. She shares her approach to training and racing that has allowed her to improve her marathon results each year.

The Champion Next Door Show – Episode 29 with Jake McCubbin

Jake McCubbin – Dayton, Ohio

Jake ran 2:35:53 at the 2018 Marine Corps Marathon just a few weeks after winning the Air Force Marathon with a 12-minute PR in 2:35:57. He also ran 1:11:38 at the 2019 Indy Mini Half. Jake has 11 years of service in the US Air Force and deployed while running cross-country and track for Wright State University. He has steadily improved his marathon results since 2014 and continues to train and race with the Advanced Running Project elite team. Jake and his wife Ellie run a coaching service called Tailored Strides where they help other runners achieve success.

The Champion Next Door Show – Episode 28 with Matt Lemon

Matt Lemon – Dayton, Ohio

Matt ran 2:19:14 at the 2019 Indianapolis Monumental Marathon narrowly missing the Olympic Trials standard. He followed that by winning Dave’s Turkey Chase 5K in Toledo (14:34), and then ran the 2020 Houston Marathon in 2:24:33. He’s run a 1:10 half marathon pushing a baby stroller, and has a half marathon PR of 1:06:16. Recently he ran 31:21 at the Minster Oktoberfest 10K and finished 3rd in the Old Glory Invitational Marathon in 2:27:17. Matt talks about 10 years of post-collegiate running and how he balances training along with his wife, elite marathoner Maura Lemon, and their two kids.
